Public Sector Workers get 30% Salary Increment.

The base compensation for Ghanaian public sector employees has raised by 30%.

This agreement was achieved following a meeting that was conducted today, January 12, 2023, after organized labor accepted the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission’s offer to continue discussing basic pay.

The Chief Executive Officer for the Fair Wages and Commission, the Deputy Minister of Finance, the Minister for Employment and Labour Relations, and their teams were all present at the meeting.

The conference was opened by the minister of employment, who told the audience that the government was prepared to offer 25% and that labor had changed its stance from 50% to 35%.

After several hours, the government side moved to 27% which was rejected by labour and labour also moved down to 30%.
