A former finance Minister for the Republic of Ghana, Dr. Kwesi Botchwey has passed on. He was born on the 3rd September 1944 and passes on at the age of 78.
Professor Kwasi Botchwey is the longest-serving Finance Minister of the Republic of Ghana as he served under the PNDC government as well as under the National Democratic Congress government. served in office alongside Ghana’s longest-serving head of state, the late former President, Jerry John Rawlings.
Professor Kwasi Botchwey served in the military era of the Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC) (1982 to 1991) and the constitutional period of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) (1992 to 1995).

Dr. Kwesi Botchwey attended Presbyterian Boys’ Senior High School in Ghana after which he proceeded to do his LL.B. from the University of Ghana, a LL.M from Yale Law School, and a doctorate from the University of Michigan Law School.
